§ Background §

The Clinical Research Curriculum Certificate is intended for physicians, dentists, and allied health care professionals engaged in or intending to become engaged in clinical or translational investigation. The NIH Clinical Center will issue a certificate for those successfully completing the clinical research curriculum.

Those who have received a Master's in Clinical Research degree from either Duke University or the University of Pittsburgh or who have obtained a master's or doctoral degree in clinical research from another institution would not need to participate in this program to receive a certificate; however, an application must still be submitted.

This is an elective, not mandatory, curriculum for fellows and is currently only open to individuals in the NIH Intramural Research Program.
